Taking a Leap of Faith

Jumping headfirst into a new endeavor can send your mind and heart into a panic. Our natural instinct is to remain doing what is familiar and safe. Many people thrive under the cocoon of safety that familiarity gives them. Why rock the boat when the stream you are on is flowing smoothly? There is absolutely nothing wrong with this mindset. They are safe and secure. What they have in life is enough.

Then there are the rest of us. We want – need – more. We look at our lives and wonder what more we can do. How can we push the limits? How can we challenge ourselves? This is not because we don’t appreciate what we have. In fact, the security of what we have is part of our motivation. When you have a solid foundation, you know that failing won’t land so hard.

However, all that doesn’t mean our minds and hearts don’t panic at the uncertainty. We feel trepidation just as others do. The difference is we still take the leap. A leap of faith, knowing no matter what happens, it will eventually work out exactly how it is supposed to.

Didn’t get the job – something else will come along.

Didn’t find an agent for the book – publish it yourself.

Didn’t get the money for a business idea – find other resources.

Taking a leap of faith is not for everyone. But, if you want something, go for it. Have faith that what happens next is exactly what is meant to happen. Have faith in your foundation – your support system. Have faith that God has you in His strong hands.
